On July 30, 2010, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Patrol
Division discovered that a sex offender registered in Beaufort County had
failed to notify the Sheriff’s Office of an address change. The Patrol Division at the Sheriff’s Office
performs routine checks on registered sex offenders to confirm they are living
at the address they have provided. The
Sheriff’s Office began an investigation and conducted interviews. As a result,
Investigator Ernest Moore applied for and obtained warrants charging Terrance Moore, age 26, of West 8th
Street in Washington, NC with one (1) count
of Failure to Register Change of
Address as a Sex Offender. Moore is
still at large. If you have any
information on the whereabouts of Terrance Moore, please call the Beaufort
County Sheriff’s Office at (252)946-7111 or Beaufort County Crime Stoppers at
(252)974-6400. Crime Stoppers will pay
up to a $1,000.00 reward for information leading to his arrest. Callers do not have to give their name to

On September 24, 2010, Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit
served arrest warrants on Heather Hindsley Tetterton, 39 years of age, of 401
Harvey Road in Washington. Tetterton was charged with two counts of Embezzle Controlled Substance
by Employee, two counts of Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Schedule
III Controlled Substance and Possession of a Scheduled IV controlled Substance. Tetterton’s
arrest stemmed from Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office
receiving complaints that Tetterton a Pharmacist at Tayloe’s Hospital Pharmacy
is stealing pain prescription pills and Testosterone an anabolic steroid from
Tayloe’s Hospital Pharmacy. Investigators
with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, the State Bureau of Investigations
and the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy worked together in establishing
evidence to substantiate the compliant. Tetterton
was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $14,000.00 secured

On September 10, 2010, Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit executed Search Warrants at 119 Baker Drive in Washington, 60 Shady Lane in Washington and 3463 River Road in Washington. Investigators and K-9 Elza found a total of 50 grams of cocaine, $1800.00 in US Currency, a sawed off shotgun shorter than eighteen inches and two pistols. Investigators
arrested Carmen Dominguez, 34 years of age, of 3463 River Road in Washington,
Miguel Tellez-Nabor, 23 years of age, of 3463 River Road in Washington, Jose
Adame, 29 years of age, of 119 Baker Drive in Washington, Raul Alonso, 18 years
of age, of 119 Baker Drive in Washington, Reyna Correa, 38 years of age, of 119
Baker Drive in Washington and Jesse Correa, 17 years of age, of 60 Shady Lane
in Washington. Carmen Dominguez
was charged with two counts of
Trafficking in Cocaine. Carmen Dominguez
was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $100.000.00
secured bond. Miguel Tellez-Nabor was charged with Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine. Tellez-Nabor was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under $50.000.00 secured bond. Jose Adame
and Reyna Correa were charged with Possession
with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and
Possession of a Weapon of Mass Destruction.
Jose Adame was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center
under a $100.000.00 secured bond. Reyna
Correa was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $60.000.00
secured bond. Raul Alonso
was charged with Possession with Intent
to Sell and Deliver Cocaine and
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

$50.000.00 secured bond. Jesse
Correa was charged with Possession of
Cocaine and Possession of Drug
Paraphernalia. Jesse Correa was

On September 23, 2010, Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit
and Probation Officers with Community Corrections conducted a search of John
Garrett Mayo and his residence located at 1924 Hwy. 102 in Chocowinity. Mayo is currently on probation for felony
breaking and entering and larceny of a firearm. Investigators
found marijuana, marijuana smoking pipes, Oxycodone packaged in a prescription
bottle and plastic baggies for resale, $378.00 in US Currency, SKS assault
rifle and a 410 shotgun. Mayo was
charged with Possession of Marijuana,
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Trafficking in Opium and Possession of a Firearm
by a Felon. Mayo was

On September 19, 2010 at approximately
1:00 a.m., Deputy David Kendrick was patrolling the area of Highway 17 South
near West Barr Road in Chocowinity, NC.
Deputy Kendrick observed a van driving south through a closed portion of
Highway 17. The van drove around
barriers and construction equipment as it traveled on the closed highway. Kendrick caught up to the van and performed a
traffic stop on Carrow Lane. Deputy
Kendrick made contact with the driver and noticed an odor of an alcoholic
beverage as well as signs of impairment.
The driver, Reniko O’Neal Hodges,
age 35, of J.C. Galloway Road in Greenville, NC, was arrested for Driving While Impaired. During a search of Hodges, Kendrick located
three baggies of marijuana. A search of
the van produced a loaded .357 revolver that was hidden under the front
passenger’s seat. Hodges was also
charged with Possession of a Firearm by
a Felon, Carrying a Concealed Gun, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug
Paraphernalia, and Displaying an
Expired Registration Plate. Hodges
was taken before Magistrate Smith and held in the Beaufort County Detention

On September 23, 2010 at 6:46 p.m., the
Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a man had fallen into
the water off a railroad trestle near Highway 264 East and Old County Road in
Pantego, N.C. Deputies responded to the
scene and found that the victim had been pulled from the water by a good samaritan
that had been flagged down on Highway 264 by a witness. EMS was on scene administering CPR. The
victim, Robert McKinley Cofield, age
47, of Avoca Farm Road in Merry Hill N.C., was transported to Pungo District
Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The Sheriff’s Office has begun an investigation into the circumstances
of the drowning. A witness reported that
Cofield fell from the trestle while fishing.
Foul play is not suspected at this time; however, the investigation is

On August 31, 2010, Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug
Unit arrested Dwight Dale Ore, 51 years of age, 733 Hwy. 171 in Washington. Ore
was charged with four counts of Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver
Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana and Possession of
Drug Paraphernalia. Ore’s
arrest stemmed from Investigators making purchases of cocaine from Ore. Investigators responded to Ore’s residence to
serve arrest warrants when they witnessed marijuana lying on Ore’s coffee
table. Investigators searched Ore’s
residence and found digital scales, cocaine, marijuana and a stolen Mossberg
410 shotgun. Ore was
confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $20,000.00 secured

On May 22, 2010, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office
received a report of larceny and fraud in the Edward area of Beaufort
County. The Sheriff’s Office began an
investigation, collected evidence, and conducted interviews. The report involved stolen checks that were
passed at area businesses. During the
investigation, additional victims were discovered. On July 8, 2010, Investigator Rob
Voliva applied for and obtained warrants charging Quentin O’Brian Moore, age 24, of Bonnerton Road in Edward, North
Carolina with five counts of Obtaining
Property by False Pretenses and one count of Attempted Obtaining Property
by False Pretenses. On September 9, 2010, Moore was arrested
by the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office and brought before Magistrate Donald
Sadler. Brown was held in the Beaufort

On December 30, 2009, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office
received a report of a sexual offense against two juveniles. The Sheriff’s Office initiated an
investigation and conducted several interviews.
Investigators learned of a third victim, an adult, during the
investigation. The assaults occurred at
a home on Moore’s Lane in Washington, NC.
On August 23, 2010, Lieutenant Jamie
Cahoon presented the cases to the Beaufort County Grand Jury. As a result, an True Bill of Indictment was
issued charging Jerome Leslie Jamison, age
46, of Moore’s Lane in Washington,
NC with three counts of Second Degree
Sexual Offense, two counts of Indecent
Liberties with a Minor, one misdemeanor count of Sexual Battery, and two misdemeanor counts of Providing Malt Beverages to Persons Under 21 Years of Age. Jamison was arrested on September 3rd and transported to the Magistrate’s Office where he was held in the Beaufort County Detention Center on a $50,000 secured bond set by Magistrate J. Mills.
